Background and Training

About Helen S. Yuen:

Helen S. Yuen graduated magna cum laude from New York University, with a B.S. in Marketing and International Business. After taking some years to discover what she didn't want to do, she attended the Swedish Institute of Massage in New York.  Since her graduation and licensing in 1999, she has acquired her NCTMB certification and has gone on to train in numerous modalities including myofascial work, lymphatic drainage, aromatherapy, Reiki and Mehta facial rejuvenation. She is one of the few diploma holders in the United States in the Mehta Face Massage™ technique. She became licensed as an esthetician in 2006 and has been incorporating that into her practice.  Helen is certified in the incredible art that is Jin Shin Jyutsu™ and looks forward to becoming a lifetime student of it. In addition to medical massage offices, Helen has worked in many of New York's most prestigious spas and still works in several. Helen says her pets originally taught her the language of touch and she still marvels at the infinite wonders and beauty in it. Helen would prefer to let her hands talk about her skill for healing touch rather than have her tongue wax poetic about it.

Helen incorporates multi-disciplines into her bodywork, always to achieve comfort through recognition of the special qualities of each individual. She has always felt that to give a great massage was to give a gift of peace.
